Committed to the Success of First Nation Communities
In recent years, Mark Walsh & Associates has been extremely proud to serve as an independent resource and trusted partner to a number of First Nation communities. Our interest is not simply in building facilities and businesses, but extends to strengthening the community as a whole.
We serve you a consultant and project manager—bringing proven expertise to your project, along with an understanding of the detailed processes, accountability requirements and challenges that come with establishing a business on treaty land.
We have assembled a strong team that offers unmatched expertise to First Nations interested in setting up fuel and convenience stores. We are also able to lend our expertise to the planning and construction of other facilities—including recreation and community centres, restaurants, and more.
In addition to our standard services, we offer the following services tailored to the unique needs and challenges our aboriginal clients face:
National brand fuel partnerships
MWA can help your community develop the detailed, professional proposal required to bring National Brand Fuel Providers on reserve.
Drawing our our long-standing relationships with Canada’s leading names in fuel, MWA can help you choose the one that will work with the band to provide a superior product offering. At the same time, we will ensure you understand the expectations the Fuel Provider will have of you as a partner—and prepare you to meet their requirements.
Controls and procedures for fuel management and distribution
Increasingly, bands are seeking to gain greater control and transparency when it comes to fuel consumption. MWA can assess the current practices for managing and distributing fuel – and provide recommendations to bring greater accountability and control.
It may be as simple as a PO system or involve the introduction of modern fuel tracking technology.
Guidance building and operating your c-store/gas station
MWA will help you set up a professional store layout that maximizes sales and guide you in establishing best business practices around business operations. In addition, we’ll assist you with a plan for training, retaining and incentivizing staff.
